MISSION

At Bar Shozan, our mission is to offer top-notch Japanese bar food and drinks in a fun and informal setting.

CHEF

Executive Chef & Co-owner, Kohei Matsuyama, is a veteran.  Chef Kohei has over 35 years experience working at upscale/luxury hotels in Japan and Toronto.  Chef Kohei’s specialty is Edo-Kaiseki cuisine—haute cuisine dating back to the Edo period.  He worked at the Takanawa Prince Hotel in Tokyo for 15 years, and spent a decade as Sous-Chef at the Westin/Prince Hotel’s Katsura Restaurant in Toronto.
